September Devlog - On the Clock


So... the page is live. We've been working around the clock on the game, and now it's just a matter of time until the world gets their hands on Preston's Hourglass.

We're very aware the mascot horror genre has become a bit oversaturated over the years, but you can rest assured that Preston's Hourglass is here to change that with its unique charm and ambitious narrative that makes it a story worth being told. We're aiming to bring something new to the table and keep the concept fresh for everybody to enjoy, kids and adults alike. There's something for everyone here. We've been inspired from the best. Baldi's Basics, Tattletail, Bendy. all the way back to Slenderman. We've put every positive, and considered every negative, to make this an experience that won't be forgotten to the sands of time.

Our lead programmer has finished an alpha that the team have been playtesting, and we're very very pleased with the results. Right now we're focusing a bit more on the art direction. I have been working on Preston's model for months. Normally this would take about a week or two, but the crew wanted as much detail as possible. Unlike other lesser games, we are taking care of optimizing the polygon count. I've included a recent render of him which came out looking really nice.

We might be being a bit hasty with our marketing despite it still being kind of a work in progress, but we're putting everything we can into this game. We're all very confident and excited as our first big break into the mascot horror genre... If this ends up going good, then we can hopefully make a sequel, expanding on the Prestonian lore. One of our writers actually had a great idea for a sequel and I was really interested in it.
